Sock Monster Mash!!

Checklist for making sock monsters:

Multiple body sizes
A variety of arm and leg lengths
Various options for facial features
A bit on the wonk (purposefully!)
Revelation of the maker's inner child

And what do you get with all of that...a heap of individually made and uniquely different characters. These are so brilliant, well done WCC ladies and special thanks to Clare for showing us x

Bloomin' Marvelous!

A collection of lovely felt flowers, handmade by the WCC ladies on Saturday. I really like how each one is unique and personal to it's maker...

These could now go on to become brooches, gift card/notebook embellishments or bag adornments, which ever way you use them they're sure to be noticed!

Ornamental trees by Kirsty

Sturdy Mr. Plod inspired pin cushions...decorative pieces for display....soft toys for children to create with....or handy door stops. These were great to make and a brilliant start to the idea of sharing project ideas amongst the collective.

Thanks Kirsty!! x x

Button Jewellery

Pretty little handmade button necklaces...lovely ladies!

We found that the jump rings we used were a bit risky with the fishing wire slipping through and may need replacing with an over-lap-key-ring style hoop for extra security...let me know if yours needs repairing! We live, make and learn...

Gorgeous Merino wool necklace scarves...

We used un-spun merino wool tops to make these quirky necklace scarves. I learnt how to do this at a workshop hosted by my friend Abigail who discovered the technique when finishing her graduate show at Central St. Martins in London.

They are surprisingly warm to wear as smaller scarves or can be spiraled and coiled into a corsage with a few stitches holding in place, the perfect addition to your winter coat!

Thanks to everyone who came along on Tuesday and Saturday,

See you soon for button jewellery...

This week we'll be mostly making owls...and robins!

Hello fellow crafters!

Some of you have already seen the little owls that we'll be making this week but the robin is making his debut appearance right here on the blog...

Join us for a felt and sewing session at Poppy Mae tonight 5 - 7 or Westbourne Library on Saturday 10 - 12 if you fancy making one of these for yourself, for a friend or just for fun!

*For those who can't make it this week, I will email the templates and I'll bring the same bits and pieces next week.

See you soon x x
