Fess up!

Crafters came along to a Confessional Postcard Collage workshop today where all sorts of secrets were revealed. From criminal declarations to personal quirks and private past-times, sharing a confession never felt so liberating!

Many thanks to Hayley for leading this fantastic workshop and well done crafters (in some cases, very naughty crafters?!) for participating!!

Sock Monster Mash Up!

Look what we made everybody!! A suitcase of little monsters (with a touch of the Vauxhall Corsa 'Cmon' creatures about them...)

I love this project and have to say, it was so much fun seeing them slowly coming to life in their individual little ways!

Keep a lookout for other monsters, who weren't quite ready for their blog debut but will be soon hopefully...

Hello crafters,

WCC's first collective collaborative creation!!

Our Spring flower canvasses! They feature a host of techniques including felt flowers, crochet, hand and machine embroidery, origami and cross stitch over vintage scenes of various Bournemouth gardens. I'm so proud and pleased with our collective outcome, everyone has been so creative and committed to the project.  A huge well done and thank you to all who participated! Wish us luck on Saturday when it will be judged at the Parkstone Gardener's Spring Show...

It's Spring show time!!

Here is a sneaky peak at what we've been up to on Saturdays... in preparation for the collaborative textile piece that WCC is entering in the Handicrafts section of the Parkstone Gardeners' Spring Show, we have been individually working on a range of spring flowers which will come together to create a collective craftwork. Watch this space...

Too wit too woo-nderful!

Two lovely examples from the Wise Old Felt Owls project re-run...a very popular project requested by the WCC ladies to do again. No doubt it will appear again in the calendar of crafts!!

Look out soon for updates of our Spring Flower textile collaboration which we are making as an entry for the Parkstone Gardeners Spring Show...

Return to sender...

A wonderful example of a needle case hand made by Lisa during a WCC session. The envelope opens up to reveal the letters of needles inside! If you want to have a go yourself have a peek at the Rachael Kelly blog for instructions.

Happy Valentine

If you're planning a Valentine surprise for someone this weekend you could take inspiration from all the lovely hearts made by WCC ladies...

Happy St. Valentine to all x x

Roses are red...

What a great way to celebrate National Libraries Day last Saturday by using old book pages to make roses...just in time for Valentines day. They can even be scented with a spritz of your favourite perfume! Well done WCC ladies, see you next week for hearts bunting x x

Sock Monster Mash!!

Checklist for making sock monsters:

Multiple body sizes
A variety of arm and leg lengths
Various options for facial features
A bit on the wonk (purposefully!)
Revelation of the maker's inner child

And what do you get with all of that...a heap of individually made and uniquely different characters. These are so brilliant, well done WCC ladies and special thanks to Clare for showing us x

Bloomin' Marvelous!

A collection of lovely felt flowers, handmade by the WCC ladies on Saturday. I really like how each one is unique and personal to it's maker...

These could now go on to become brooches, gift card/notebook embellishments or bag adornments, which ever way you use them they're sure to be noticed!

Ornamental trees by Kirsty

Sturdy Mr. Plod inspired pin cushions...decorative pieces for display....soft toys for children to create with....or handy door stops. These were great to make and a brilliant start to the idea of sharing project ideas amongst the collective.

Thanks Kirsty!! x x

Button Jewellery

Pretty little handmade button necklaces...lovely ladies!

We found that the jump rings we used were a bit risky with the fishing wire slipping through and may need replacing with an over-lap-key-ring style hoop for extra security...let me know if yours needs repairing! We live, make and learn...
